What it is like here
The founder framed houses for fourteen years, so jobs are scoped by someone who has stood where you will stand. Inspections end with photographs, repairs get scoped to the layer that failed, and the day ends when the work is done, in Wichita or one of its towns. You sleep in your own bed every night. The far run is Hutchinson on a grouped day, not a motel in another state.
Roofer
Full-time. Two or more years of residential roof repair, shingles and flashing both, and the judgment to tell a homeowner a roof needs planning rather than patching when the photographs say so. Clean driving record, your own hand tools (the specialty gear is provided), and comfort being watched from the yard by a homeowner holding the inspection photos, because here they have them. Saturdays rotate across the whole crew in storm season, Ellis included.
Apprentice
Full-time, no roofing experience required, comfort on a ladder absolutely required, and framing or carpentry experience counts for a great deal here. You will learn how a roof is put together before you learn how it comes apart, ride with Nolan on repairs, and be trusted with real work as fast as you earn it. Several of the best roofers we know started exactly here, carrying shingles and asking questions.
